Occasionally, Microbadge Coupon Codes are distributed. There are some special microbadges, such as those used to identify Admins and Geeks of the Week. Others are awarded by the system to users who contribute content to BoardGameGeek (for example, a user who writes 5 session reports gets a Copper Session Reporter microbadge). Some are awarded free to those who participate in certain contests or surveys. Not all microbadges are available for purchase, however. The most straightforward way to acquire a microbadge is to purchase one at a cost of 8 GeekGold. Microbadges can be acquired in several ways.
